Honda improves 2012 CR-V with added mileage and technology
Honda has launched the fourth generation of its CR-V crossover, adding upscale styling, greater fuel efficiency and other added features to compete in the American
car leasing market.
Set to go on sale at Honda
vehicle lease lots on December 15, the new version strikes a balance between compact appearance on the outside and roomy, five-passenger comfort on the inside.
A long list of standard technology features adds to the new CR-V experience, including a hands-free Bluetooth phone interface, a full-color intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) and a multi-angle rearview camera. Drivers can also avoid distraction with an SMS text messaging function that reads any incoming text message aloud over the car's audio system, allowing them to keep their eyes on the road.
The lineup of 2012 CR-V designs begins with the base LX model, adds extra features for the mid-range EX model and completes the picture with the top-shelf EX-L.
All models power themselves with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine with 185 horsepower, geared through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The system produces 26 miles per gallon in combined fuel economy for the front-wheel drive version, and just one mile per gallon less with all-wheel drive.
